Logline:
A Mormon seeks an answer from God if he can marry a Muslim, but the answer he's expecting never comes.
Summary:
Moroni, a Latter-day Saint, prays to God for an answer if he can marry Leila, his Muslim girlfriend, and feels like he's okay to move forward, but after her congenital heart disease acts up and stops her heart during their rappelling trip to Damascus Arch he starts to second guess if he received an answer from God. Moroni and his sister Jesse begin helping Leila with the recovery process after her surgery, and things start to get back to normal as they help her with classes, but Leila has another cardiac event and is put on the heart transplant list. Doubts begin to build and both Moroni and Leila question if their relationship is meant to be with all of the obstacles that keep getting placed in their way. They decide to call it off.
Moroni talks with his sister who tells him that maybe the reason he hasn't felt like he's received a definitive answer is that God wants him to choose for himself. Moroni decides to go into the desert and photograph the arch he was going to propose at and look for the engagement ring that got lost along the way.
At the arch he has a quite moment with God and feels like he can keep moving forward. Moroni finds the ring in his truck and realizes it was with him the whole time. He prints the arch and hangs it up in Leila's room where he proposes to Leila. She smiles.
